I didn’t fail my first exam because of new OTP (to my surprise), so I’ll just continue.
Young Ronin and Tara, a minute or so before she was chosen as a Queen.
I think Tara is pretty recognizable, just less feminine, which is natural. Ronin doesn’t really look himself though, which is actually natural too as his movie version is friggin 100 years older, but still I think some explaination wouldn’t harm.
So, first thing: he’s not yet a leafman, he didn’t even start training. According to my headcanon, in those times they actually didn’t train kids/teens, they recruited young men/women, if said could prove they have potential. So basically if one wanted to be a leafman, he was supposed to train him/herself first.
Tara wanted to be a leafman more than Ronin did at the time, although they both didn’t actually start doing anything, they just thought it’d be great to be leafmen. It was Tara’s becoming a Queen that made Ronin reconsider his wish and start training, and really hard - he decided he would become a leafman while still in his teens. And that made him.
So basically, his built and skills we saw at the movie - in this picture they aren’t here yet. He’s not exactly skinny, but there aren’t a lot of muscle either - he’s just sort of normal boy. Even his hair aren’t that short yet - his later short cut is a result of need to keep a clear sight while fighting.
In short: not yet a Queen and a leafman, just cute kids being cute.
